High Mountain Adventure Guides will be based in France for the winter!! Come visit and explore the Tarentaise mountains around world famous ski resorts of Val D’Isere & Tignes. The quick access to amazing off piste couliors and steep mountain skiing out of Tignes is a great way to practice these techniques. Ski Touring above the St. Foy station is also another epic sleeper itinerary that everyone should enjoy.
Tignes Off-Piste, classic route like any of the Chardonnet couloirs, North face of Grande Balme, Couloir 3500 on Grande Motte or Les 3 Murs.
Tignes is also a great place to learn backcountry ski equipment & techniques, skinning, kick turns route finding can all happen on routes such as Rochers Rouges south couloir, la Grande Tourne east couloir,or classic Terres Rouges tour.
Ski Traverse from Tignes to Les Arc
Tignes to La Plange, and ended in Les Arcs. You travel about 90 kilometers by skiing, gondola, lift, hike, bus (few kilometers), elevator, t-bar, rope tows. We start by dropping off the Col du Palet, backside of Tignes into a pristine winter world, eventually ending in Champagny. A quick visit through La Plagne and a tram ride to near Sommet de Bellecote.You will ski a 2,500-ft couloir off of the Bellecote (11,200-ft elevation) and proceeded to ski down to Les Lanches / Peisey-Nancroix for a quick coffee (6,000-ft down from the top of the couloir). A taxi will deliver us from amazing ski ending to Les Arc where we ride chairs, cabins and trams to near the summit og Aiguille Rouge 3227m for a epic ski descent to Ville Roger 1200m, a 2000m descent to our waiting transportation back to Tignes
Summit of the Fogliettaz, with a full descent of the north face – one of the most iconic and rewarding ski descents in the world. Glorious scenery with views of the Archeboc and Ormelune summits and the hanging glacier of Les Balmes.
Le Mont Rosset 2449m : a 900 m ascent on climbing skins before enjoying an incredible run facing the Vanoise summit. For beginners or skiers already introduced to ski touring.
Les Arêtes de Montséti 2573m: starting from the lifts of St Foy, a beautiful run in the small valley of Mercurel, followed by a 2 hours ascent to get to the top of the ridge, and a final run on the west side to the village of Miroir 1200m. For good skiers.
Le Col des Roches 3443m: a grand itinerary in a high mountain environment surrounded by magnificent glaciers. From the top of the Grand Col chairlift, around 2 hours of ascent on ski-touring to get to the Col des Roches. Downhill run by the Geay Glacier. For skiers used to off pist skiing or ski-touring
